Direct share creates a temporary QR transfer gate on the PC. A mobile device scans the QR code, confirms the rules, uploads one file, and the PC downloads it after confirmation.

The complete Direct share flow
The PC and mobile device never need to be paired in advance. The QR code carries the temporary session link and the upload key stays limited to that transfer.

Open the PC transfer gate
On the PC, open Direct share, select the Free, Gold, or Platinum plan, and confirm the transfer policy.

Show the QR code
shareBySquare creates a temporary transfer session and displays a QR code that points to the upload gate.

Scan from the mobile device
The mobile device scans the code in reader.html and is redirected to upload-gate.html with the session parameters.

Upload one file
The sender confirms the policy, chooses one file within the active license limit, and uploads it to the waiting PC session.

Download on the PC
The PC sees that the file arrived, confirms receiving it, downloads the file, and the temporary transfer is completed.

Confirm the result
The mobile page can show a positive delivery message when the PC receives the file or a clear error if the upload fails.

Limits and licenses
Direct share follows the same Free, Gold, and Platinum limits
The transfer gate uses the same license system as regular QR sharing, so upload size and availability stay consistent across shareBySquare.
Free: upload files up to 1 GB.
Gold: upload files up to 3 GB; links can stay valid for up to 7 days.
Platinum: upload files or folder ZIP archives up to 10 GB; cloud retention lasts while the subscription is active.
